The most useful discovery for man are self-discovery activities. Discovering yourself is the first door that leads us on the path to happiness and well-being.
Lives go round in circles because people don’t know who they are. Many people don’t know how to orient and beautify their life for the simple reason that they don’t know what they are.
What Is Self-Discovery?
Self-discovery is an activity, a process by which the individual takes time to probe, analyze, meditate, and understand his life. It is an individual’s own investigation of his inner and outer being (only that the emphasis is on the inner aspect). It is an activity in which the individual sets himself up as a researcher: he looks for strengths, weaknesses, and dysfunctions in his life by trying to understand things in order to take responsibility.
The Goal of Self-Discovery Activities
On the one hand, the goal of self-discovery is to provide us with solid elements to get our life back in hand. On the other hand, it is to dig into ourselves for ways to have elements to build our happiness and well-being.
The Importance of Self-Discovery Activities
Going to his self-discovery allows man not only to have a better image of himself and to have the opportunity to take stock of his life.
Going to his self-discovery allows man to learn to know himself, identify his personality, and his psychological aspects.
Going to his self-discovery allows man to discover his passion, what drives him, makes him vibrate, and inspires him.
Going to his self-discovery allows man to identify his life mission, his reason for being on earth, and what he must bring to humanity.
Going to his self-discovery allows man to discover the meaning of his life, to probe his deepest aspirations and his values.
Going to his self-discovery allows man to identify the potentials that God has placed in him and to know how to use his faculties.
Going to his self-discovery allows man to know how to divide things between what is useful, necessary, urgent, and essential.
Going to his self-discovery allows man to give himself a clear direction and to specify his vision.
Give Yourself Time for Self-Discovery Activities
To go to self-discovery, you must first give yourself time, and have time for yourself. We must nurture the idea of filling the thirst for discovery. Until you realize the importance of discovering yourself, you will never succeed. People who don’t have time for themselves to sit down and think long and hard about their life (about what they want to do, what they want to become, and what they want to have) are certainly not going to achieve self-discovery.
How to Conduct Self-Discovery?
– First, withdraw from yourself and explore yourself; it is a work of consciousness and concentration
– Then, take time to question yourself thoroughly about your being (identity, personality), your future (status, mission, etc.), as well as your assets (possessions).
– Finally, take note of everything you find in your mind step by step.
Note: Establish a schedule and dedicate a specific time to yourself so that you can conduct your self-discovery at your own pace. There is no point in going faster, but the main thing is to go surely and objectively.
