Yet, managing one’s relationship with God is tantamount to knowing how to maintain one’s relationship with God.   Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ

Hence the theme of our series of articles entitled: HOW AND WHY MAINTAIN A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST?

“And now, little children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, we shall have assurance, and that at his coming we shall not be confounded and removed from him.” – 1 JOHN 2:28.

Indeed, the return of Jesus Christ is more than certain, on the one hand. On the other hand, human life is very short. And it is time to know how to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You have to know that one thing is to be a Christian. And another thing is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This implies that we can be a Christian without having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ: it is the case of Christians who are “in the form” and not “in the background.” On the other hand, Christians who are “in form and substance” are those who really have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. But also, in this case, the relationship that Jesus expects from each of us is that sincere, honest, intimate, deep, and fruitful at our level.

You Need to Have a Better Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ

And to reach that kind of relationship with him, you need to have a better relationship with Jesus Christ. Faced with this, we understand that one thing is to have a relationship with Jesus. And another thing is to maintain it. Hence, the problem of maintaining our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

But, what does it mean to maintain one’s relationship with God or Jesus? First of all, let’s note that we talk about relationship maintenance, when there is an existing relationship between two individuals or two entities, or two people, or two groups, and so on. As long as there is no established relationship between two people or two entities, or two personalities, or two groups or between several: we cannot talk about relationship maintenance. Now let’s try to literally define the following terms: relationship and nurturing. Then try to understand the notion “to maintain one’s relationship with God or Jesus Christ.”

Relation

This is the link, the relationship between two people or two entities. It is also a link or an interaction between people or entities.

Maintain

The verb ” to maintain ” can have several meanings. But here we will retain the following definition: To maintain is to keep in good condition or to maintain a thing by providing the necessary things.

Maintain a Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ

This means to maintain in good condition a link, a link, a report, or an interaction between two people, or two entities.

This being so, “To maintain one’s relationship with God or Jesus Christ” means to keep in good condition his connection, his connection with Jesus. It is also to keep, maintain good links, good relations with God.

But, how and why to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus, as a Christian? It is this problem that we are going to develop in the hope of achieving a specific goal which is to bring a plus, a grain of salt to the knowledge of the people of God in their walk or their relationship with Jesus.

May God help us understand and live this teaching, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the God of our Salvation, who will come back to his people soon in the very near future! Amen!
